Jarryd Hayne rubbishes United States rape allegations

The woman states she was a virgin at the time of the alleged incident, was afraid of alerting authorities in the months afterwards.

Documents lodged in a County of Santa Clara court state the woman had previously met some of Hayne's friends when working at a restaurant and a group went out drinking after the December 20 game.

The case was formerly rejected in October previous year due to insufficient evidence.

The woman, whose identity is protected in court documents, made the allegation in a civil lawsuit filed against Hayne on Wednesday in Santa Clara County.

Ramy Qutami, of Madison Marcus Law Firm, issued a statement on behalf of Hayne, who was understood to be flying to Israel to resume his religious holiday when news broke of the allegations on Wednesday.

Jarryd Hayne has been accused of rape by a woman in the US.

According to the lawsuit, the woman says she met the two-time Dally M victor while intoxicated at a San Jose bar after a 49ers game.

The action is for sexual battery, battery, gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence arising from the alleged rape. She said she had never had sexual intercourse before that night but was fearful of going to police because of Hayne's prominence.

Things did not work out for Zaha at Old Trafford however, and he moved back to Palace after just one season with the Red Devils. Wilfried Zaha has been the shining light in what has been a hard season for Crystal Palace thus far.

"The victim was a young impressionable woman out with friends in a location and environment she thought she could trust only to find that Mr. Hayne used her level of intoxication and his physical stature to deprive her of the ability to make a personal decision about whether or not she wanted to have sex", Micha Star Liberty, an attorney for the woman, said.

"When Ms V awoke the following morning, still experiencing tremendous vaginal pain, she was naked and covered in a single sheet on a bed with a large pool of blood next to her", another attorney, Micha Star Liberty is quoted as saying.

She then reported the alleged incident to police in May 2016, however the investigation was ultimately dropped due to insufficient evidence.

The woman is represented by John Clune, a Boulder, Colorado, attorney who has represented several women who have accused professional and college athletes of sexual abuse.

Hayne made a splash when he left his NRL career behind to join the San Francisco 49ers.

Hayne has since quit the Titans to return to his former club Parramatta on a one-year deal to be closer to his family in Sydney.

"As with any legal matter it is important we follow due process and ensure we review all relevant information available, including giving Jarryd the opportunity to respond", the club said in a statement.

The NRL will monitor the civil case against Jarryd Hayne but at this stage will not suspend the Parramatta veteran for the start of the 2018 season.
